     116J.75 Bureau of business licenses. 

    Subdivision 1.    Appointment of director.  The head of 
 the bureau shall be the director of business licenses.  The 
 director shall be appointed by the commissioner in accordance 
 with section 116J.01, and shall be in the classified service. 

    Subd. 2.    Director's powers and duties.  The director 
 shall direct the work of the bureau.  The director may, with the 
 advice and consent of the commissioner, hire necessary 
 employees, prescribe their duties, fix their compensation, and 
 provide for the reimbursement of their expenses.  

    Subd. 3.    Director's report.  The director shall 
 report to the commissioner or a designee on the activities of 
 the bureau to ensure the consistency of those activities with 
 the overall economic development policies of the state.  

    Subd. 4.    Coordination with other agencies.  The 
 commissioner, working with other agency heads, shall assure that 
 the activities of the bureau are fully coordinated with related 
 activities of other agencies.
