The commissioner of health must collect, analyze, and report data on epilepsy and related seizure disorders in Minnesota. The data must include the number of diagnoses, clinical outcomes, mortality rates, and related population health data for each calendar year. Deidentified data must be made publicly available.
The commissioner of health must use the data on epilepsy and seizure disorders to inform statewide efforts and build coordinated systems and partnerships to support community-led and culturally responsive strategies to ensure that Minnesotans at risk for or living with epilepsy and seizure disorders and their caregivers have equitable access to opportunities and resources to support their well-being and quality of life. The commissioner of health must use the data to identify areas of need and recommend strategies to address gaps.
