299F.859 LOCAL REGULATION.
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the local governmental units of this state may
neither enact nor enforce any ordinance or other local law or regulation conflicting with, or
preempted by, any provision of sections 299F.850 to 299F.858 or with any policy of this state
expressed by sections 299F.850 to 299F.858, whether that policy be expressed by inclusion
of a provision in sections 299F.850 to 299F.858 or by exclusion of that subject from sections
299F.850 to 299F.858.

NOTE:This section, as added by Laws 2007, chapter 54, article 7, section 19, is effective
December 1, 2008. Laws 2007, chapter 54, article 10, section 19, the effective date.
NOTE:This section is repealed if a federal reduced cigarette ignition propensity standard
that preempts this section is adopted and becomes effective. Laws 2007, chapter 54, article 7,
section 22.
