609B.455 MINNEAPOLIS POLICE PUBLIC PENSION; HOMICIDE; BENEFIT LOSS.
Subdivision 1.
Scope. The collateral sanctions discussed in this section are codified in
section
356.406.
Subd. 2.
Homicide; loss of death benefits. A person charged with a felony causing the death
of a public pension plan member has the entitlement to the pension suspended.
Subd. 3.
Forfeiture of survivor benefits upon felony conviction. A person who is a
survivor and convicted of a felony that caused the death of a public pension member forfeits
the survivor pension benefit.
Subd. 4.
Benefit recovery. If pension benefits have already been paid, the chief
administrative officer of the pension plan must attempt to recover amounts paid.
