     488A.28 Eviction actions. 

    Subdivision 1.    Procedure.  The general laws 
 applicable to eviction actions shall apply to this court, and 
 the forms as prescribed in the general laws may be used with 
 such appropriate modifications as may be necessary for this 
 court.  

    Subd. 2.    Return days.  Return days for eviction 
 actions may be fixed by rules promulgated by a majority of the 
 judges.  

    Subd. 3.    Default judgments.  Whenever a duly verified 
 complaint in an eviction action shows one of the causes of 
 action as set forth by general statute, and on the return day of 
 the summons the defendant does not appear, the judge, upon proof 
 of the due service of the summons, shall enter an order 
 adjudging the defendant to be in default, and thereafter the 
 administrator shall enter judgment for the plaintiff without the 
 introduction of evidence.  

    Subd. 4.    Trials.  Eviction actions, which are 
 contested, shall be given precedence over all other civil 
 matters in trial settings.
