     469.302 Designations of enterprise zones. 

    Subdivision 1.    Process.  The commissioner shall 
 designate an area as an enterprise zone if: 

    (1) the application is made by the governing body of the 
 city as prescribed by section 469.304; 

    (2) the area is determined by the commissioner to be 
 eligible for designation under section 469.303. 

    Subd. 2.    Duration.  The designation of an area as an 
 enterprise zone is effective for ten years after the date of 
 designation. 

    Subd. 3.    Date of designation.  Designation is 
 effective immediately following approval of the enterprise zone 
 application by the commissioner.
