542.01 VENUE; GENERAL RULE; EXCEPTION.
Except as provided in section 542.02, every civil action shall be tried in the county in which
it was begun, unless the place of trial be changed as hereinafter prescribed; and when so changed
all subsequent papers in the action shall be entitled and filed in the county to which such transfer
has been made.
