256D.045 SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER REQUIRED.
To be eligible for general assistance under sections
256D.01 to
256D.21, an individual
must provide the individual's Social Security number to the county agency or submit proof that
an application has been made. An individual who refuses to provide a Social Security number
because of a well-established religious objection as described in Code of Federal Regulations, title
42, section
435.910, may be eligible for general assistance medical care under section
256D.03.
The provisions of this section do not apply to the determination of eligibility for emergency
general assistance under section
256D.06, subdivision 2. This provision applies to eligible
children under the age of 18 effective July 1, 1997.
