     236.01 Definitions. 

    Subdivision 1.    Scope.  The definitions in this 
 section apply to sections 236.01 to 236.09. 

    Subd. 2.    Person.  "Person" means an individual, 
 partnership, association, corporation, or joint venture or a 
 combination of these. 

    Subd. 3.    Grain bank.  "Grain bank" means a 
 feed-processing plant that receives and stores grain, the 
 equivalent of which, except as is otherwise permitted by section 
 236.04, it processes and returns to the grain's owner in 
 amounts, at intervals, and with added ingredients that are 
 mutually agreeable to the grain's owner and the person operating 
 the plant.  "Grain bank" does not include a seed cleaning plant. 

    Subd. 4.    Grain bank receipt.  "Grain bank receipt" 
 means a nonnegotiable receipt issued to the owner of grain or 
 the owner's agent.  

    Subd. 5.    Department.  "Department" means the 
 Department of Agriculture.
