     241.19 Food products, production and preservation.  

    The commissioner of corrections may contract with 
 corporations or individuals engaged in the commercial canning or 
 freezing of food products, under such terms as the commissioner 
 believes are for the best interests of the state, for the 
 seeding, fertilizing, harvesting, and preserving of food 
 products for consumption by institution inmates.  The contract 
 may provide for the payment of the processor's services by a 
 fractional share of the food processed.  The commissioner shall 
 not be required to advertise for or secure bids.
