     17.45 Importation of European rabbit forbidden.  

    Subdivision 1.  It is unlawful for any individual, person, 
 firm, partnership, or corporation to import into Minnesota the 
 European rabbit, commonly known as the San Juan Hare, of 
 Cuniculus species and the Orystelbus-Cuniculus Genus, without 
 obtaining permission from the commissioner of agriculture.  

    Subd. 2.  Any person violating this section is guilty of a 
 misdemeanor.
