     257.42 Appropriate public authority defined.  

    The "appropriate public authorities" as used in article 3 
 of the interstate compact on the placement of children shall, 
 with reference to this state, mean the Minnesota department of 
 human services and said department of human services shall 
 receive and act with reference to notices required by said 
 article 3.
