115A.9162 Used oil loans and grants.

Subdivision 1. Loans. The director may make loans to businesses for the purchase of used oil processing equipment.

Subd. 2. Grants. The director may make grants to local government units for installation of storage tanks to collect used oil. To be eligible for a grant, an applicant must obtain approval from the commissioner of the agency for the type of tank to be used, the location and installation of the tank, and the proposed ongoing maintenance and monitoring of the collection site. A tank may be located on public or private property and must be made available to the public for used oil disposal. A grant for a single tank may not exceed $2,500 and a local government unit may not receive more than $5,000 in grants for storage tanks.
