9505.0250 CLINIC SERVICES.

Subpart 1.

Definition.

"Clinic service" means a preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, rehabilitative, or palliative service provided by a facility that is not part of a hospital but provides medical or dental care to outpatients.

Subp. 2.

Eligible provider.

To be eligible for medical assistance payment for a clinic service, a clinic must comply with items A to C.

A.

The clinic must have a federal employer's identification number and must report the number to the department.

B.

A clinic that provides physician services as defined in part 9505.0345, subpart 1 must have at least two physicians on the staff. The physician service must be provided by or under the supervision of a physician who is a provider and is on the premises.

C.

A clinic that provides dental services as defined in part 9505.0270, subpart 1 must have at least two dentists on the staff. The dental service must be provided by or under the supervision of a dentist who is a provider and is on the premises.

Subp. 3.

Exemption from requirements.

The requirements of subpart 2 do not apply to a rural health clinic as in part 9505.0395, a community health clinic as in part 9505.0255, and a public health clinic as in part 9505.0380.
