4731.7160 ENERGY COMPENSATION SOURCE.

A.

A licensee may use an energy compensation source (ECS) that is contained within a logging tool or other tool components only if the ECS contains quantities of licensed material not exceeding 100 microcuries (3.7 MBq).

B.

For well logging applications with a surface casing for protecting freshwater aquifers, use of the ECS is subject only to parts 4731.7070 to 4731.7090.

C.

For well logging applications without a surface casing for protecting freshwater aquifers, use of the ECS is subject only to parts 4731.7030, 4731.7070 to 4731.7090, 4731.7150, and 4731.7280.
