                            CHAPTER 380-S.F.No. 2547 
                  An act relating to the capitol area; requiring the 
                  capitol area architectural and planning board to 
                  select a site in the capitol area for installation of 
                  the memorial to Minnesota firefighters that is now 
                  installed at Minneapolis-St. Paul International 
                  Airport and to place a plaque in the court of honor on 
                  the capitol grounds to honor combat wounded veterans. 
        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
           Section 1.  [FIREFIGHTERS MEMORIAL.] 
           The capitol area architectural and planning board shall 
        select an appropriate site in the capitol area for installation 
        of the memorial to Minnesota firefighters that is now installed 
        at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, provided, 
        however, that the board has first been assured to its 
        satisfaction that nonstate sources are available to cover the 
        entire cost of site selection and the removal, transportation, 
        and reinstallation of the memorial. 
           Sec. 2.  [MEMORIAL PLAQUE; COMBAT WOUNDED VETERANS.] 
           A memorial plaque to honor combat wounded veterans may be 
        placed in the court of honor on the capitol grounds.  The plaque 
        must be furnished by other than the department of veterans 
        affairs and approved by the commissioner and the capitol area 
        architectural and planning board.
