                  An act relating to utilities; abolishing sunset 
                  provision related to competitive rates for electric 
                  utilities; making technical changes; amending Laws 
                  1990, chapter 370, section 7; repealing Minnesota 
                  Statutes 1994, section 216B.162, subdivision 9. 
        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
           Section 1.  Laws 1990, chapter 370, section 7, is amended 
        to read: 
           Sec. 7.  [REPEALER.] 
           Sections 2 and 3 are Section 2 is repealed July 1, 1995. 
           Sec. 2.  [REPEALER.] 
           Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 216B.162, subdivision 9, 
        is repealed. 
           Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
           Sections 1 and 2 are effective the day following final 
        enactment.
