           An act relating to state government; providing for a 
          day care center for state employees in the capitol 
          complex; amending Minnesota Statutes 1982, section 
          16.02, by adding a subdivision. 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
    Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1982, section 16.02, is 
amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
    Subd. 31.  To provide rental space within the capitol 
complex for a private day care center for children of state 
employees.  The commissioner shall contract for services as 
provided in chapter 16.  The commissioner shall report back to 
the legislature by October 1, 1984, with the recommendation to 
implement the private day care operation.  
    Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
    Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
