                        CHAPTER 159--S.F.No. 756
           An act relating to negligence; removing bars to 
          actions in certain cases; amending Minnesota Statutes 
          1982, section 604.06.  
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
    Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1982, section 604.06, is 
amended to read:  
    604.06 [FIREMAN'S RULE.] 
    The common law doctrine known as the fireman's rule shall 
not operate to deny any peace officer, as defined in section 
626.84, subdivision 1, clause (c), or section 352E.01, 
subdivision 2, a recovery in any action at law or authorized by 
statute. 
    Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
    This act is effective the day following final enactment and 
applies to all causes of action accruing on or after that date.
