A bill for an act
relating to workforce development; appropriating money for a grant to the Boys
and Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

PROGRAM; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $500,000 in fiscal year 2027 is appropriated from the workforce development fund to
the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to the Boys and
Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota for the CareerSTART Life and Workforce Development
Program, a comprehensive workforce development program and strategy that aligns
education, employers, and community partners to meet Minnesota's long-term economic
and social goals by equipping disadvantaged youth ages 13 to 21 with mentorship, workforce
experiences, financial literacy, soft skills, and exposure to postsecondary pathways. This is
a onetime appropriation and is available until June 30, 2028.
