HF 1406 Senate Long Description

Authorizing the commissioner of health to conduct maternal death studies to assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of medical, health and welfare service systems and to reduce the numbers of preventable maternal deaths; including midwives in the definition of provider for health records access purposes and granting the commissioner access to certain medical data and health records without the consent of the subject or relatives of the subject of the data for study purposes, authorizing a data provider fee, requiring the commissioner to make reasonable efforts to notify relatives of the subject of the data before collection; providing for management of the records, classifying the data obtained; repealing a certain provision providing for fetal, infant and maternal death studies (Ch. 211, 2001)
