relating to workforce development; housing; authorizing a grant to Ujamaa
Place; appropriating money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin UJAMAA PLACE APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $2,400,000 in fiscal year 2017 is appropriated from the general fund to the
commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to Ujamaa Place for
job training, employment preparation, internships, education, training in the construction
trades, housing, and organizational capacity building. Of the amount appropriated, no
more than $....... may be expended for organizational capacity building. This is a onetime
appropriation.
