An act

relating to insurance; prohibiting life insurers from using a prescription for an opiate antagonist when making certain determinations;

amending Minnesota Statutes 2020, section 72A.20, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2020, section 72A.20, is amended by adding a subdivision to read:

new text begin When determining whether to issue, renew, cancel, or modify a policy of life insurance, an insurer may not make an underwriting determination based solely on information revealing that a proposed insured has a prescription for an opiate antagonist, as defined in section 604A.04, subdivision 1. new text end
