An act

relating to metropolitan government; providing for redistricting of the Metropolitan Council districts;

amending Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 473.123, by adding a subdivision; repealing Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 473.123, subdivision 3d.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 473.123, is amended by adding a subdivision to read:

Subd. 3e.

District boundaries.

Metropolitan Council plan MC2013-1A, on file with the Geographical Information Systems Office of the Legislative Coordinating Commission and published on its Web site on April 9, 2013, is adopted and constitutes the redistricting plan required by subdivision 3a. The boundaries of each Metropolitan Council district are as described in that plan.

Sec. 2.

APPLICATION.

This act applies in the counties of Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington.

Sec. 3.

REPEALER.

Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 473.123, subdivision 3d, is repealed.

Sec. 4.

EFFECTIVE DATE.

This act is effective the day following final enactment.
