An act

relating to education; clarifying continuing education requirements for substitute principals;

amending Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 122A.14, subdivision 3.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 122A.14, subdivision 3, is amended to read:

Subd. 3.

Rules for continuing education requirements.

The board shall adopt rules establishing continuing education requirements that promote continuous improvement and acquisition of new and relevant skills by school administrators. new text begin A retired school principal who serves as a substitute principal or assistant principal for the same person on a day-to-day basis for no more than 15 consecutive school days is not subject to continuing education requirements as a condition of serving as a substitute principal or assistant principal. new text end
