An act
relating to state government; including definition terms for energy forward pricing mechanisms;
amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 16C.143, subdivision 1.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
The following definitions apply in this section:
(1) "energy" means natural gas, heating oil, propane, new text begin diesel fuel, new text end and any other energy source except electricity used in state deleted text begin facilitiesdeleted text end new text begin operationsnew text end ; and
(2) "forward pricing mechanism" means a contract or financial instrument that obligates a state agency to buy or sell a specified quantity of energy at a future date at a set price.
