An act
relating to drivers' licenses; requiring at least 30 minutes of driver education on organ and tissue donation; permanently suspending statute creating vehicle insurance sampling program;
amending Minnesota Statutes 2004, section 171.0701; Laws 2005, First Special Session chapter 6, article 3, section 109.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
The commissioner shall adopt rules requiring a minimum of 30 minutes of instruction, beginning January 1, 2007, relating to organ and tissue donations and the provisions of section 171.07, subdivision 5, for persons enrolled in driver education programs offered at public schools, private schools, and commercial driver training schools.
Sec. 109. EFFECTIVE DATE; EXPIRATION.
Sections 91 to 98 are effective the day following final enactment and do not expire on June 10, 2006.
Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, section 14.388, the commissioner shall amend Minnesota Rules, part 7411.0515, subpart 2, to provide that driver education programs offered at public schools, private schools, and commercial driver training schools must include a minimum of 30 minutes of instruction relating to organ and tissue donations and the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, section 171.07, subdivision 5.
