An act

relating to counties; removing limit in county expenditures for soldiers' rest;

amending Minnesota Statutes 2004, section 375.36, subdivision 1.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2004, section 375.36, subdivision 1, is amended to read:

Subdivision 1.

$3,500 yearly limit County powers; soldiers' rest.

A county board may purchase a plot of ground in any duly organized cemetery lying, in whole or part, in the county, or in a contiguous county, to be designated and used exclusively as a soldiers' rest, and. The county may appropriate money for its cost, embellishment, and upkeep, and for the opening and the closing of graves in it, not more than $3,500 in any one year.

EFFECTIVE DATE.

This section is effective the day following final enactment.
