                            CHAPTER 462-H.F.No. 2489 
                  An act relating to bicycles; authorizing local units 
                  of government to require purchasers of impounded 
                  bicycles to register them as a condition of the sale; 
                  amending Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 168C.13, by 
                  adding a subdivision. 
        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
           Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 168C.13, is 
        amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
           Subd. 3.  [REGISTRATION OF IMPOUNDED BICYCLES UPON SALE.] A 
        political subdivision that sells bicycles it has impounded may 
        require that the purchaser of an impounded bicycle register the 
        bicycle under section 168C.03 as a condition of the sale.
