                  An act relating to financial institutions; maintaining 
                  the Savings Association Act. 
        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
           Section 1.  [SAVINGS ASSOCIATION ACT.] 
           Notwithstanding Laws 1996, chapter 414, article 1, sections 
        44 and 45, as amended by Laws 1997, chapter 157, section 67, or 
        other law, the sections cited in Laws 1996, chapter 414, article 
        1, section 44, paragraph (a), are not repealed and remain in 
        effect after June 30, 1998. 
           Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
           This act is effective the day following final enactment.
