                  An act relating to economic development; authorizing 
                  port authorities to use certain provisions of the 
                  uniform municipal contracting law; amending Minnesota 
                  Statutes 1994, section 469.068, by adding a 
                  subdivision. 
        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
           Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 469.068, is 
        amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
           Subd. 3.  [UNIFORM MUNICIPAL CONTRACTING LAW.] A port 
        authority may use the dollar limits on contracts for the basis 
        for competitive bids, quotations, or purchase or sale in the 
        open market contained in section 471.345 as an alternative to 
        the limits contained in subdivision 1.
