                            CHAPTER 410-H.F.No. 1881 
                  An act relating to the city of Red Wing; authorizing 
                  certain police officers to elect retirement coverage 
                  by the public employees police and fire fund.  
        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
           Section 1.  [RED WING POLICE; RETIREMENT COVERAGE.] 
           Notwithstanding the 180-day limitation contained in 
        Minnesota Statutes, section 353A.08, subdivision 3, an active 
        member of the Red Wing police relief association may make an 
        election to have retirement benefit coverage provided by the 
        public employees police and fire fund as authorized by the cited 
        law.  An election under this section must be made within 90 days 
        after the effective date of this section, and shall in all other 
        respects be governed by Minnesota Statutes, section 353A.08, and 
        other applicable laws.  
           Sec. 2.  [LOCAL APPROVAL.] 
           Section 1 is effective on approval by the Red Wing city 
        council and compliance with Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021.
