                        CHAPTER 278-S.F.No. 1624 
           An act relating to claims against the state; providing 
          for payment of various claims; appropriating money. 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
    Section 1.  [DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS.] 
    Subdivision 1.  The amounts in this section are 
appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of 
corrections for payment to the persons named in this section in 
full and final payment of claims against the state.  These 
appropriations are available until June 30, 1994.  
    Subd. 2. (a) Raymond P. Adam, 33268-185th Avenue, Avon, MN 
56310, for permanent injury to his right eye while performing 
community service work in Stearns county.....$17,250.00.  
    (b) To reimburse various medical service providers for 
services to Raymond P. Adam.....$29,160.90.  
    Subd. 3.  Michael Carey, c/o George Ramier, Attorney, 402 
Park National Bank Building, 5353 Wayzata Boulevard, 
Minneapolis, MN 55416, for permanent injuries to his back and 
left arm and wrist while performing assigned duties at the 
Minnesota correctional facility - Lino Lakes.....$16,650.00.  
    Subd. 4.  Jody Chmelar, c/o William O. Bongard, Attorney, 
Sieben, Grose, and Von Holtum, 900 Midwest Plaza East, 
Minneapolis, MN 55402, for permanent injury to his left hand 
while performing assigned duties at the Minnesota correctional 
facility - Red Wing.....$750.00.

to his left hand while performing assigned duties at the

injuries to his right hip while performing assigned tasks at the

56082, for permanent injury to his right hand while performing 
assigned duties at the Minnesota correctional facility - Lino

for permanent injury to his left hand while performing assigned 
duties at the Minnesota correctional facility -

Mankato, MN 56002, for permanent injuries to his left hand while 
performing assigned duties at the Minnesota correctional

MN, for permanent injury to his right hand while performing 
assigned duties at the Minnesota correctional facility - St.

Edina, MN 55439, for permanent injuries to his right hand while 
performing assigned duties at the Minnesota correctional

for permanent injuries to his right hand while performing 
assigned duties at the Minnesota correctional facility - St.

    Subd. 14.  Kathryn Tonder, Route 5, Little Falls, MN 56345, 
for expenses related to theft of her vehicle by escapees from 
Minnesota correctional facility - Red Wing.....$222.19.  
    Subd. 15.  To reimburse various medical service providers 
for services to John Wendt, 803 North 5th Street, Mankato, MN 
56001, who suffered an injury to his left elbow while performing 
assigned duties at the Minnesota correctional facility - Red 
Wing.....$3,529.40.  
    Subd. 16.  For reimbursement to state or local agencies or 
service providers of amounts paid for permanent injury claims 
and for medical services to individuals who were injured while 
performing community service work for correctional purposes 
under Minnesota Statutes, section 3.739:  
    (1) For claims under $500.00 each and other claims already 
paid.....$10,173.55. 
    (2) For medical services provided to David Dolan, 512 10th 
Avenue S.E., Rochester, MN 55904, who suffered a back injury 
while performing community service work in Olmsted 
county.....$618.50.  
    (3) For medical services provided to Scott Greaves, 4023 W. 
6th Street, Duluth, MN 55807, who suffered a back injury while 
performing sentencing to service work in Carlton 
county.....$1,297.91.  
     (4) For medical services provided to Glen Joecks, c/o 
Ronald Frauenshuh, Attorney, 113 Washburne Avenue, Paynesville, 
MN 56362, who suffered a neck injury while performing sentencing 
to service work in McLeod county.....$1,594.80. 
    Sec. 2.  [DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES.] 
    Subdivision 1.  The amounts in this section are 
appropriated from the game and fish fund to the commissioner of 
natural resources for payment to the persons named in this 
section in full and final payment of claims against the state.  
These appropriations are available until June 30, 1994.  
    Subd. 2.  Tackle Box, Inc., c/o Robert Simanson, 7860 Lake 
Drive, Lino Lakes, MN 55014, for reimbursement for returned 
unsold hunting and fishing licenses.....$370.80. 
    Subd. 3.  Target Stores, Inc., Attn: Tim Chapman, 1902 
Highway 53, Duluth, MN 55811, for reimbursement for returned 
unsold hunting and fishing licenses....$3,229.13.  
    Sec. 3.  [DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION.] 
    Subdivision 1.  The amount in this section is appropriated 
from the trunk highway fund to the commissioner of 
transportation for payment to the person named in this section 
in full and final payment of claims against the state.  The 
appropriation is available until June 30, 1994. 
    Subd. 2.  Gregory M. Chartier, 2423 Youngman Avenue, St. 
Paul, MN 55116, for damage to his vehicle at an exit ramp from 
Interstate Highway 35W, in Minneapolis.....$500. 
    Sec. 4.  [DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS.] 
    Subdivision 1.  The amounts in this section are 
appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of 
veterans affairs for payment to the persons named in this 
section in full and final payment of claims against the state 
for adjusted compensation arising from World War II, the Korean 
Conflict, and Vietnam service.  The appropriations are available 
until June 30, 1994.
