An act relating to the environment; appropriating
money from the metropolitan landfill contingency trust
fund to the commissioner of the pollution control
agency for reimbursement to the city of Hopkins for
remediation of methane at the city landfill; amending
Laws 1991, chapter 182, section 7.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1. Laws 1991, chapter 182, section 7, is amended
to read:
Sec. 7. [APPROPRIATION.]
$1,300,000 $2,300,000 is appropriated from the metropolitan
landfill contingency action trust fund to the commissioner of
the pollution control agency to be available until June 30, 1993
1994, for the purpose of reimbursing the city for costs incurred
over $400,000 under a work plan approved by the commissioner to
remediate methane at the landfill.
The maximum amount for which the city may bond under
section 3, subdivision 1, paragraph (b), is reduced by the
amount of the appropriation in this section.
Sec. 2. [EFFECTIVE DATE.]
Section 1 is effective on the day following final enactment.
