           An act relating to courts; providing an alternative 
          dispute resolution pilot project in the second 
          judicial district; amending Minnesota Statutes 1989 
          Supplement, section 484.74, subdivision 4.  
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
    Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1989 Supplement, section 
484.74, subdivision 4, is amended to read: 
    Subd. 4.  [APPLICATION.] This section applies only to 
the second and fourth judicial district districts, which will 
serve as a pilot project projects to evaluate the effectiveness 
of alternative forms of resolving commercial and personal injury 
disputes.  The state court administrator shall evaluate the 
pilot project projects and report the findings to the chairs of 
the house and senate judiciary committees by January 15, 1991, 
in the case of the fourth judicial district and by January 15, 
1992, in the case of the second judicial district.
