           An act relating to libraries; excluding library 
          services levies from certain levy limitations; 
          amending Minnesota Statutes 1986, section 134.34, by 
          adding a subdivision. 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
    Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1986, section 134.34, is 
amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
    Subd. 6.  [EFFECT OF LEVY LIMITATIONS.] Notwithstanding any 
law to the contrary, levies authorized in this section for 
library services are not included in the portion of county or 
city levies subject to levy limitations.
