           An act relating to criminal procedure; defining 
          "crime" in the law governing issuance of search 
          warrants to include violations of municipal 
          ordinances; amending Minnesota Statutes 1986, section 
          626.05, by adding a subdivision. 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
    Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1986, section 626.05, is 
amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
    Subd. 3.  [CRIME.] The term "crime" as used in sections 
626.04 to 626.17 includes (1) those offenses defined as crimes 
in section 609.02, subdivision 1, and (2) all violations of 
municipal ordinances for which a misdemeanor sentence may be 
imposed.
