                        CHAPTER 413-H.F.No. 1740 
           An act relating to criminal sexual conduct; clarifying 
          the definition of "consent"; amending Minnesota 
          Statutes 1986, section 609.341, subdivision 4.  
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
    Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1986, section 609.341, 
subdivision 4, is amended to read:  
    Subd. 4.  "Consent" means a voluntary uncoerced 
manifestation of a present agreement to perform a particular 
sexual act with the actor. 
    Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
    Section 1 is effective August 1, 1988, and applies to 
crimes committed on or after that date.
