CHAPTER 66-S.F.No. 698
An act relating to education; authorizing northeast
metropolitan intermediate school district No. 916 to
issue certain bonds for the acquisition and betterment
of a secondary vocational and special education
facility.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1. [AUTHORIZATION.]
If authorized by election of the eligible voters of the
district under chapter 475 and if approved by the state board of
education as required by Minnesota Statutes, section 136D.75,
the board of northeast metropolitan intermediate school district
No. 916, may issue school building bonds to provide funds for
the acquisition and betterment of a separate secondary
vocational and special education facility to be located on the
campus of and attached to the district's existing AVTI
facility. The total cost of the project must not exceed
$1,600,000 and proceeds of state bonds must not be used for this
project. This section is specific legislative authorization for
the expenditure of funds as required by Minnesota Statutes,
section 136C.07, subdivision 5. The bonds must be issued in
compliance with Minnesota Statutes, section 136D.741.
Sec. 2. [APPLICATION.]
On its effective date, section 1 applies to northeast
metropolitan intermediate school district No. 916, of Ramsey,
Washington, and Anoka counties.
Sec. 3. [EFFECTIVE DATE.]
Section 1 is effective the day after the governing body and
chief clerical officer of northeast metropolitan intermediate
school district No. 916 comply with Minnesota Statutes, section
645.021, subdivisions 2 and 3.
