                        CHAPTER 357-H.F.No. 1940 
           An act relating to Stearns county; authorizing the 
          Stearns county board to designate the county auditor 
          as the local registrar of the county. 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
    Section 1.  [STEARNS COUNTY; LOCAL REGISTRAR.] 
    Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 144.214, 
subdivision 1, the county board of Stearns county may designate 
the county auditor as the local registrar in the county, with 
the approval of the court administrator. 
    Sec. 2.  [STEARNS COUNTY; MARRIAGE LICENSING.] 
    Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, chapter 517, the county 
board of Stearns county may authorize the county auditor to 
perform the functions and duties of the court administrator 
required under Minnesota Statutes, chapter 517, with the 
approval of the court administrator.
