           An act relating to military affairs; authorizing the 
          department of military affairs to purchase certain 
          insurance; amending Minnesota Statutes 1984, section 
          15.38, by adding a subdivision. 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
    Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1984, section 15.38, is 
amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
    Subd. 6.  [DEPARTMENT OF MILITARY AFFAIRS.] The adjutant 
general may purchase insurance coverage deemed necessary to 
indemnify the department of military affairs for workers' 
compensation awards paid for state employees employed under 
federal cooperative funding agreements.
