                        CHAPTER 99-H.F.No. 1199 
           An act relating to the city of New Brighton; providing 
          an exception from the New Brighton police civil 
          service system for the chief and deputy chief of 
          police. 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
    Section 1.  [NEW BRIGHTON POLICE.] 
     Notwithstanding any other law, the chief of police and 
deputy chief of police of the city of New Brighton are not 
subject to the jurisdiction of the New Brighton police civil 
service commission and are exempt from the police civil service 
system adopted by the city of New Brighton pursuant to Minnesota 
Statutes, chapter 419.  
    Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
    Section 1 is effective the day after compliance with 
Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021, subdivision 3, by the 
governing body of the city of New Brighton.
