                        CHAPTER 193-S.F.No. 825 
           An act relating to the city of Crystal; regulating the 
          holding of public offices by council members; 
          providing for the adoption of emergency ordinances.  
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
    Section 1.  [COUNCIL MEMBER OFFICES.] 
    Notwithstanding section 3.02 of the Crystal city charter, a 
member of the Crystal city council may hold any other public 
office otherwise compatible with the office of member of the 
council.  
    Sec. 2.  [EMERGENCY ORDINANCES.] 
    Notwithstanding section 3.06 of the Crystal city charter, 
an emergency ordinance may be adopted by the city council by a 
vote of a majority of all of its members.  
    Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
    This act is effective the day after compliance by the 
governing body of the city of Crystal with Minnesota Statutes, 
section 645.021, subdivision 3, and shall expire December 31, 
1987.
