  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to children; continuing the citizenship 
  1.3             promotion program; appropriating money for the citizen 
  1.4             promotion program; repealing Laws 1997, chapter 162, 
  1.5             article 2, section 32. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.8      $1,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.9   commissioner of children, families, and learning for the 
  1.10  biennium ending June 30, 2001, for purposes of the citizen 
  1.11  promotion program in Laws 1997, chapter 162, article 2, section 
  1.12  29. 
  1.13     Sec. 2.  [REPEALER WITHOUT EFFECT.] 
  1.14     The repeal of Laws 1997, chapter 162, article 2, section 
  1.15  29, with an effective date of June 30, 1999, is without effect 
  1.16  and Laws 1997, chapter 162, article 2, section 29, remains in 
  1.17  effect after June 29, 1999. 
  1.18     Sec. 3.  [REPEALER.] 
  1.19     Laws 1997, chapter 162, article 2, section 32, is repealed 
  1.20  effective June 30, 1999.
