A bill for an act
relating to natural resources; appropriating money for general service grants to
soil and water conservation districts.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $2,100,000 in fiscal year 2008 and $2,100,000 in fiscal year 2009 are appropriated
from the general fund to the Board of Water and Soil Resources for general service grants
to soil and water conservation districts. The money may be used for basic operations,
including staff to enable local soil and water conservation districts to leverage other local,
state, and federal funding to provide soil and water conservation programs to owners of
private lands. This program shall be indexed to inflation.
