  1.3             operating levy for independent school district No. 
  1.4             2853, Lac qui Parle Valley. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [LEVY AUTHORITY; CONTINUATION.] 
  1.7      Subdivision 1.  [EXTENSION OF AUTHORITY.] The levy 
  1.8   authority granted under Laws 1992, chapter 499, article 6, 
  1.9   section 35, to the Lac qui Parle joint powers district is 
  1.10  extended to independent school district No. 2853, Lac qui Parle 
  1.11  Valley. 
  1.12     Subd. 2.  [LEVY AUTHORITY.] For taxes payable in 2000 to 
  1.13  2004, independent school district No. 2853, Lac qui Parle 
  1.14  Valley, may levy an amount not to exceed $80,000 for costs 
  1.15  associated with operating the cooperative secondary high school. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.17     Section 1 is effective July 1, 1999, for taxes payable in 
  1.18  2000.
