  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to drug policy and violence prevention; 
  1.3             authorizing the commissioner of children, families, 
  1.4             and learning to award grants for substance abuse 
  1.5             intervention in neighborhoods programs; appropriating 
  1.6             money. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [SUBSTANCE ABUSE INTERVENTION IN NEIGHBORHOODS 
  1.9   PROGRAMS.] 
  1.10     $150,000 is appropriated for the biennium ending June 30, 
  1.11  2001, from the general fund to the commissioner of children, 
  1.12  families, and learning to be used to award grants to local 
  1.13  organizations for substance abuse intervention in neighborhoods 
  1.14  programs.  The commissioner shall develop a process for 
  1.15  administrating the grant, including criteria for the grants.
