A bill for an act
relating to state government; authorizing Minnesota
Computers for School to acquire surplus property for
the state; amending Minnesota Statutes 2004, section
16C.23, subdivision 1.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2004, section 16C.23,
subdivision 1, is amended to read:

Subdivision 1.

Definitions.

"Governmental unit or
nonprofit organization" means a governmental unit as defined in
section 471.59, subdivision 1, an Indian tribal
government, new text begin Minnesota Computers for School, new text end and any nonprofit
and tax-exempt medical institution, hospital, clinic, health
center, school, school system, college, university, or other
institution organized and existing for any purpose authorized by
federal law to accept surplus federal property.
