A bill for an act
 relating to higher education; appropriating money for a grant to the International
Renewable Energy Technical Institute at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; INTERNATIONAL RENEWABLE ENERGY
TECHNICAL INSTITUTE (IRETI).

new text begin $1,500,000 is appropriated from the general fund in fiscal year 2010 to the Board of
Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities for a grant to Minnesota State
University, Mankato for the International Renewable Energy Technical Institute (IRETI)
to be located at the university as a public and private partnership to support applied
research in renewable energy and energy efficiency to aid in the transfer of technology
from Sweden to Minnesota and to support technology commercialization from companies
located in Minnesota and throughout the world. This is a onetime appropriation.
