  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to retirement; providing early retirement 
  1.3             benefits to a certain retired Minneapolis teacher. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [ELIGIBILITY FOR BENEFITS.] 
  1.6      A person who retired from service as a teacher for special 
  1.7   school district No. 1, Minneapolis, on March 1, 1993, who was at 
  1.8   least age 55 at the time of retirement, and who had at least 25 
  1.9   years of combined service credit in Minnesota public pension 
  1.10  plans at the time of retirement, shall receive the benefits 
  1.11  provided in Laws 1993, chapter 224, article 8, sections 17 and 
  1.12  18. 
  1.13     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.14     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment, 
  1.15  and applies to annuity payments and health insurance payments 
  1.16  due after that date.
